Our log cabins are built to your specification an are based upon your vision. We build them to your specification which means whilst you are free to use our sample designs, you can design your own, or adapt one of our samples to suit you.

Our cabins are built from the 'heartwood' (the highest quality section of a log) as it is the most dimensionally stable and decay resistant portion of a tree. This reduces the tendency for timber to twist, and ensures that the maximum stability is gained.

Milled Logs


 

Milled timber has a flatter or even flat appearance. Milled logs are suited to both large and small buildings, and give a more European look and feel to a log home. Milled logs can be cut to any thickness that you require. It is recommended that for a cabin that is for residence that you have at least 4" 1/2 thick timber, remember the thicker, the warmer and the less need for insulation. If the property is not intended for residence, such as a studio, a thinner timber can be used if required.

Log Cabin Preferences


Having a home that you can count as ideal is about making choices that suit you. That is why we offer a whole host of options. You may see a design that you like the look of, and there is nothing to stop you sending us a picture or a copy of a design for us to build from.

The choices available don't stop at the type of timber used, the shape, size etc. You also have a choice of how much you do. For example, you may wish for us to supply your home as a flat pack kit that can be assembled by you or a competent carpenter. You may also wish that we supply and build.

Prices

As a rough guide our prices for this type of cabin tend to be £35.00 per sq. ft. for our self build option or £50.00 per sq. ft. for the supply and erection. These prices include all duties and taxes. An exact quote can only be made once the final drawings are made.
